  • Introduction: Granulosa cells are present in all stages of folliculogenesis, protect the oocyte and prepare it for ovulation. If granulosa cells are killed, ovulation and then fertility will not happen. Aluminum is a chemical element that widely used in industry. Aluminum can cause reproductive disorders by targeting gonads in both males and females and accumulating in these organs.
  • Methods: For this study, we used 21-day-old female NMRI mice. The ovarian granulosa cells were extracted. The extracted cells were treated with different doses of AlCl3. Finally the effect of AlCl3 doses on treated cells was evaluated.
  • Results: Humans are exposured to AlCl3 every day.Aluminum and its derivatives can aggregate in ovaries and lead to infertility.
  • Conclusion: These findings show that AlCl3 can cause granulosa cells death. So it can impair folliculogenesis and fertility.
