  • Introduction: Prostate cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer  and the sixth leading cause of cancer death in males worldwide. Studies have shown there are associations between dietary and nutrient patterns with prostate cancer. In this study, the effect of nutrition on risk of prostate cancer was investigated.
  • Methods: By entering keywords and applying Title filter on pubmed database 43 articles were found . They were collected since 2014 . Based on research topic 17 of them were used.  On the other hand 14 relevant articles were extracted from google scholar. Also 9 articles in Science direct were selected in searching since 2019 . Finally 40 articles were used to study.  
  • Results: Studies have shown fibers , antioxidant can decrease  the risk of prostate cancer .   Although significant associations between  saturated fats and prostate cancer has not been established , saturated  fats and trans fats have negative effects on some studies. some research has shown that minerals can influence the risk for example high total calcium intake may increases the risk of prostate cancer . On the other hand selenium cause decreasing in prostate cancer incidence .High intake of protein and animal foods increase the risk of prostate cancer. Vitamin can alter the risk too for example vitamin D decrease prostate cancer growth and reduces tumors. Lycopene induces apoptosis and decrease prostate cancer growth too . Also Green tea has some effects on prostate cancer risk. It can reduce the risk of prostate cancer
  • Conclusion: Although significant associations between nutrition or some foods and prostate cancer have not been proved research has shown that nutrition can change the risk of prostate cancer. Some type of vitamin , green tea , fibers and antioxidant decrease incidence or growth of prostate cancer. On the other hand high intake of protein , calcium and saturated fats have opposite effects.
