  • Introduction: Recently immunotherapy is topnotch of medical sciences. Encouraging immunotherapy in cancer approximately explained that macrophages have a critical role in advance and relapse of tumors. In human M1 and M2 are two types of macrophages that M2/ wound-healing type is a noticeable place in cancer. M2 release various growth factor molecules that promote tumor growth. Indeed, this function is resembled act in repair and wound healing. M1/classical macrophages are in contrast to M2 have a significant role in produce pro-inflammatory cytokine that reputes to killing macrophages. This study aims to characterize macrophages as a novel immunotherapeutic issue in the clinic.
  • Methods: Published articles were accomplished from PubMed, Google Scholar, Wiley, Springer, Science Direct and Elsevier from 2012 to September 2019. Entirely, 45 relevant articles were found and reviewed.
  • Results: By several investigations, nowadays modulating M2 macrophages to M1 can reduce or pause tumor growth. This change involves at first killer’s activity of M1 by secreted particular immunomediatores for inflammation statues that promote innate immunity for killing cancer cells and the second excite immune cells like T helper1, T cytotoxic and others effector cells. Another character of Macrophages is the ability to forecast cancer disposed of. A person with a high range of M2/M1 is susceptible to get a tumor.
  • Conclusion: Evidence shows that Modulating macrophage response is an important discovery that improved assist immunotherapy, although there is still something to overcome their statue, however, advantages of this act is more than disadvantages. Modulating M2 to M1 and innate immunity plays a pivotal role in cancer consequences such as stimulate T-cells that open Bright therapeutic opportunity as an accuracy response in cancer immunotherapy.
