  • Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease in which the myelin sheaths damage nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It causes a variety of symptoms and complications in people. One way to reduce these complications is to use acupuncture. Our aim in this study is to review the effect of acupuncture on the rehabilitation of patients with multiple sclerosis.
  • Methods: This review study was conducted in 2018 by searching for keywords such as Acupuncture, Multiple Sclerosis, Rehabilitation in reputable databases such as SID, Web of sience, Pub Med, Sience Direct, which found some articles and after using Prisma Checklist some They entered the study.
  • Results: The results of the study showed that since 2008, between 2 to 2.5 million people worldwide have been diagnosed with this disease. The disease normally occurs in the ages of 20 to 50 and in women twice as men and causes the problems of autonomic, visual, motor and sensory, including visual problems (the movement of the eyeball, reduced visibility or vision), feeling of fatigue, severe pain or chronic pain, tingling, spasms, muscle weakness, Non-dysphagia reactions, muscle cramps, or disability in the movement, inability to coordinate and balance the muscles, difficulty in speaking, or a number of clinical clinical studies that used acupuncture techniques such as the Chinese scalping method and the Hillberg TCM model in them were improved and decreased Symptoms, complications such as fatigue, pain reduction, imbalance and spasms of muscles were felt.
  • Conclusion: Due to the positive effect of acupuncture in reducing the symptoms and complications of multiple sclerosis disease, it is suggested to use this treatment method in order to improve the physical function of motor patients with multiple sclerosis.
