Introduction: Adiponectin is an adipose-secreted hormone that was discovered in 1995, adiponectin is a 30-kDa protein with 244 amino acids and at least two receptors, it has several impacts such as regulates energy homeostasis, insulin-sensitizing , anti-inflammatory effect and is also involve the control of the reproductive system for example role in HPG axis, ovarian functions(it to be decreased in PCOs), embryo development, etc . The aim of the recent study is to investigate changes in adiponectin during the normal menstrual cycle.
Methods: The design of the study is a literature review. We search google scholar, Pubmed and science direct, Cochrane, nature review database from 2006 until 2019. Identified studies that evaluated the adiponectin changes in the normal menstrual cycle.
Results: We investigated 36 studies that were published from 2006 until 2019.Characteristics of serum adiponectin changes in the normal menstrual cycle.
Since 2006-2018 documents serum adiponectin level was stable in normal menstrual cycle except 2013-2015 serum adiponectin level was increased in the luteal phase, no find any document for 2019 yet.
Conclusion: The adipose tissue is an active endocrine organ that can produce a large number of adipokines,such as adiponectin it has several impacts such as regulates energy homeostasis, insulin-sensitizing, anti-inflammatory effect and is also involve the control of the reproductive organ, in this study has investigated changes in adiponectin during the normal menstrual cycle, We search several databases from 2006-2019, Since 2006-2018 documents serum adiponectin level was stable in normal menstrual cycle except 2013-2015 serum adiponectin level was increased in luteal phase.
