Introduction: The adipose tissue is an active endocrine organ that can produce a large number of adipokines, such as adiponectin, adiponectin is beneficial adipokine in reproduction and fertility it has role in female reproductive tissue, insulin-sensitizing, anti-inflammatory effect and regulates energy homeostasis, it to be decreased in PCOs, prolactin too contribute to energy metabolism and reproduction,it is best known for its involvement in lactation where it regulates mechanisms that supply nutrients for milk production it regulates lipogenesis in human adipose tissue, the goal of this study is the investigation of the relationship between prolactin and Adiponectin secretion.
Methods: The design of the study is a literature review. We search google scholar, Pubmed and science direct, PMC, nature review database from 2005 until 2018. Identified studies that evaluated the connection between Adiponectin and prolactin.
Results: We investigated 25 studies that were published from 2005 until 2018.Characteristics of the relationship between prolactin and adiponectin secretion.
According to 2005-2018 documents, prolactin suppresses the adiponectin secretion except for one study that indicates prolactin not effect on adiponectin secretion.
Conclusion: Adiponectin is an adipose-secreted hormone, it has several impacts such as, insulin-sensitizing,anti-inflammatory effect, control of the reproductive system and regulates energy homeostasis, prolactin also role in energy metabolism and role in reproduction, it regulates lipid synthesis in human adipose tissue , We search several databases from 2005-2018 that associated with the effect of prolactin on adiponectin secretion , Since 2005-2018 documents prolactin suppress the adiponectin secretion except for one study that indicates prolactin not effect on adiponectin secretion.
