  • Introduction: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most current childhood cancer and it stands a main reason of morbidity and mortality in children and adults. The drug 6-mp (mercaptopurine) is antimetabolite and analogue of purine, and is one of the drugs used to treat various types of leukemia.the aim of this study was to Investigating the Influence of mercaptopurine(6-mp) on Expression Changes of microRNA34a in controlling of notch signaling pathway in jurkat E.6.1.
  • Methods: In the first stage mercaptopurine(6-mp) was prepared. Secondly, the mercaptopurine(6-mp) was prepared at 5 and 10 micromolar doses and the jurkat E.6.1 cancer cells with cell culture in two doses with 24 hours with mercaptopurine(6-mp) were investigated. Next, miRNA extraction and cDNA synthesis were performed and the expression of micro RNA mir34a and mir199 gene was evaluated as Real Time PCR housekeeping gene. Finally, the results were analyzed by Rest Software.
  • Results: The results of evaluate indicated that the expression of microRNA mir34a significantly increased after treatment with mercaptopurine(6-mp) with (p-value < 0.001)
  • Conclusion: in inference ,the produce results of the current study lead to the conclusion that doses of 5 and 10 , 6-mp in 24 hours are the optimal doses and time of the effect of this complex.
