  • Introduction: Lung cancer is the most common cancer among men and women worldwide. Factors Influencing Lung Cancer: Smoking , Cigarette Smoke Exposure , Radon Gas, Asbestos, etc. One way to treat Allicin is. Allicin is a natural sulfur compound that has many biological properties . One of the Allicin properties is the fight against cancer cells . The purpose of this article is to investigate the effect of Allicin on cancer cells (lung cancer cells) for use in anticancer drugs.
  • Methods: Lung cancer cells (A549) were cultured after determination of survival in medium (DMEM / F12 without serum supplement) .These cells are divided into two groups: one in the presence of Allicin (25 μM) and the other in the absence of Allicin . After 24, 48, 72, 96 hours cell death was assessed by MTT assay. For further study, lung cancer cell line (A549) was divided into 3 equal sections. And we added different doses of Allicin (30 μM, 40 μM and 50 μM). After 24 and 48 hours, MTT assay was performed. Then all the results were analyzed in spss software.
  • Results: In the first experiment, in the sample containing Allicin (25 μM) , the survival of the cancer cells was significantly decreased and the apoptosis rate was significantly increased (P <0.05). In the second experiment, as the concentration of Allicin (30 μM, 40 μM and 50 μM) increased, survival decreased and apoptosis increased (p<0/05).
  • Conclusion: According to the results of Allicin , it inhibits the cell cycle and changes the protein of cancer cells. This reduces survival and increases apoptosis of cancer cells (lung cancer cells), thereby inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. Allicin , an anti-cancer substance. Can be used in the manufacture of anticancer drugs.
