  • Introduction: Studies on live animals in microbiological fields, which generally leads to suffering and death of the animal, is ethically and scientifically debatable. The main motive of this article is the researcher’s responsibility toward animal welfare which is considered for the development of science especially in fields that lead to microbiology and vaccination.
  • Methods: This study was conducted by students and researchers considering code of ethics and animals welfare (WAZA), questionnaires and polls related to training and research fields with the direct access to the database. The data used for this article was gathered from Kerman university, Kerman Neuroscience Research Center, Shahr-e-kord Azad university and Science and Research branch, Islamic Azad university.
  • Results: Mostly, there is no justification for trials that lead to animal harm. Therefore, essential education in ethics in research with animals, utilization of appropriate anesthetic methods and the least number of laboratory animals were among the important issues that were considered. According to the results of survey, researchers are completely aware of ethical issues of animal work and maintenance aspects. However, applying this knowledge often encounters problems due to lack of financial resources and staff.
  • Conclusion: Since considering affairs that reduce pain and death in the survey of animals is essential, utilizing the view of researchers in the ethical and legal principals will help improve animal welfare.
