  • Introduction: Cancer is a type of disease that is a factor in the abnormal growth of the cells of the body, and the cells are uncontrollably proliferating and spreading to the rest of the body. The abnormal growth of these cells ultimately leads to the formation of large tumors, and these tumors are divided into malignant and benign tumors, which the benign tumor is not a life threatening one. There is a risk of cancer occurring of all ages, but it increases with age. There are more than a hundred types of cancer, and their names are usually taken from their sources. Examples include carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma and many others. The symptoms of cancers vary a lot and each cancer has its own symptoms, but many of them have some symptoms in common. For example: weight loss for no reason, increase in body temperature, bloating, fatigue, pain, anemia, skin changes, continuous cough and cramping, and many other symptoms. There are various ways to diagnose cancer. X-ray, CT scan, MRI, blood tests, urine and DNA tests can be performed on the body.
  • Methods: Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, there are many ways to treat cancer. For example chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy and many others, but the use of natural therapies can also be effective. They have no side effects such as chemical drugs do, so they would be more efficient. For instance, green tea treats breast, stomach and skin cancer; garlic is useful for preventing digestive leukemia, and it plays a role in maintaining cardiovascular healthy; grape seed are beneficial to cope with gastric cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer. Another natural remedy for fighting against cancer is called Propolis. The Propolis is a substance similar to wax and it is a bee product; it also has a dense and sticky form. The smell of this material is very pleasant and its color varies from green to brown. Propolis is a disinfectant and an effective factor in preventing the introduction and spread of diseases in the hives.
  • Results: Propolis has many properties due to the presence of caffeine acid, pinocembrin, galangin, pinobaccine, cyanic acid etc. For example: direct anti-cancer effect, increasing immunity, antioxidant effect, anti-inflammatory effect, antibacterial effect, protection against chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and so on. Studies have shown that the use of propolis with chemotherapy is more effective than chemotherapy alone. In fact, this substance is used in advanced cancer patients undergoing chemo-therapy or radiotherapy and increases the effectiveness of treatment and reduces the adverse effects. Also daily use of propolis in healthy people can also be very effective and strengthen the immune system.
  • Conclusion: It cannot be said that propolis is effective in treating cancer for 100%, but by conducting research and experimentation it is possible to find out more about its amazing properties.
