Abstract

Introduction

Because of importance of cancer and the side effects of existing therapies, it is essential to find new therapeutic strategies with high efficacy and minimal unwanted effects. camel milk is known as therapeutic agent traditionally for treatment of various diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and some autoimmune diseases. in recent years, researchers have been attracted on uncovering the hidden power of its bioactive structures especially in cancer treatment. thus, the aim of this review is providing a series of recent studies in the area of camel milk administration for some types of cancer.

Methods

In this review, we have used the online databases to search for related information. in order to access pertaining scientific articles, we applied search engines on pubmed, scopus and google scholar databases with close meaning key-words such as tumor, anticancer, camel milk, carcinogenesis, anti-inflammation and drug-delivery.

Results

There are in vivo and in vitro studies which have tested the effect of camel milk in different stage of carcinoma which include from the high preservation of cell resistance against cytotoxic agents and tumorigenic situation after camel milk administration to the cell death induction in cancer cell lines which were exposed to camel milk. also camel milk components have been investigated in anti-cancer drug delivery successfully.

Conclusion

All researches demonstrated that camel milk could exert anti-tumor activity due to its bioactive molecule contents with the special structure of compositions which represent highly potent antioxidant and anti-inflammation properties that need more experiments to find the exact mechanism.

Keywords
