Abstract

Introduction

The purpose of this study was to assess the protecting character of double coated beads of alginate-chitosan-eudragit s100 nanoparticles attained from the encapsulation of lactobacillus acidophilus.

Methods

After activation of starter culture of lactobacillus acidophilus in mrs-broth, centrifuge (5000 rpm for 10 min) was employed to purify bacteria. the examination of beads strength was performed for 12 h and the assessment of viability of encapsulated bacteria was done for 120 min inside phosphate buffer, hydrochloric acid, and digestive powder solution. pour plate process with the mrs-salicin-agar, and incubation at 37 ℃ for 48 h was used for cultivation. recorded data were analyzed via an independent t-test.

Results

The results showed that the viability of microencapsulated bacteria in both conditions with and without tensions, is significantly further than free ones (p<0/05).

Conclusion

Microencapsulation by means of alginate-chitosan-eudragit s100 nanoparticles play a major role in enhancing the amount of lactobacillus acidophilus survival.
