Abstract

Introduction

Pineapple is a member of the ananasian family, it is a sub-tropical fruit. it has many chemical compounds that are important for the health of the body. today, the views of developed countries towards medicinal plants and fruits have been focused on the treatment of various diseases, which requires the identification of the compounds in them. this study examines the ingredients in pineapple and introduces them. the use of they can help researchers to produce drugs for chronic diseases, especially cancer. pineapple is a member of the anasian family, which is widely produced in angola, and is actually native to the center and south of the united states, found in tropical regions like the philippines and brazil, or india and malaysia. it is a sub-tropical fruit and cultivated in africa. it has a lot of popularity. it contains a good proportion of amino acids and water, it has also been reported to have good antioxidant and antibacterial properties

Methods

Extraction: pineapple fruit was well washed and the skin was separated, then the fruits were divided into smaller pieces and extracted from a soxhlet extractor and a methanol solvent in a drama of about 75 ° c. the extract was then dried at about 60 ° c and was added 10 times the weight of sterile distilled water and kept until the time the extract was used in the refrigerator.presence of phenolic substances: 200 μl of raw extract was poured into the test tube and then added 2 ml of sodium carbonate 3% and 200 μl of folic acid to the cuvette. 30 minutes at room temperature. creating a dark blue color indicates the presence of phenolic compounds.1 ml of each extract was mixed with 100 μl of sodium hydroxide in the test tube. a yellow-tinted color confirms the presence of flavonoids. 100 μl of concentrated hcl was added to the tubes. the return to the original color confirms the presence of these compounds.the presence of vitamin c: detection of this compound was performed using dnph (sulfuric acid solution in 2 and 4 nitro-phenylhydrazine). creating a yellow precipitate indicates the presence of vitamin c.presence of terpenoves: 1 ml of each extract was mixed with 400 μl of chloroform and then added 400 μl of concentrated sulfuric acid to it. in this experiment, the formation of red, brown, purple color is evaluated as a positive result.presentations: 0.5 ml of each extract is mixed with 10 ml of boiling water and filtered. a small amount of iron chloride is added to it 6%. the appearance of dark green indicates the presence of tannin.

Results

Tannin compounds, phenols, flavonoids, vitamins cand terpeneid are present in the extract

Conclusion

Pineapple (ananas comosus) contains phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins and other effective compounds that have a strong antioxidant effect. the use of this fruit also improves chemotherapy responses. it is hoped that by introducing its compounds, an effective way to produce an anti-cancer drug would be found, which would require further research in this regard, and achieving this could lead to a huge transformation in the pharmaceutical industry of our beloved iran.
