  • Introduction: Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers. It is the third most common cancer in the world. The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is higher in men than in women and increases with age. Advanced stages of cancer, usually associated with distant metastases, are uncontrollable. The purpose of this study was to measure the expression of NAMPT and PVT1 genes in colorectal and normal tissue samples in order to better understand the role of these genes in this type of tumor and to examine them as biomarkers in the diagnosis or prognosis of colorectal cancer. .
  • Methods: In this study, 70 tissue samples including35 gastric tumor tissues as well as 35 normal stomach tissue samples were examined as controls. Analysis of the expression of NAMPT and PVT1 genes was performed using Real Time PCR.
  • Results: Increased expression of NAMPT and PVT1 genes was found in cancer samples compared to normal tissues (pvaliu <0.05). In fact, the role of both genes as an oncogene was also shown to have no significant association with tumor size, stage and vascular invasion.
  • Conclusion: The expression of NAMPT and PVT1 genes plays an important role in the formation and development of colorectal cancer, and it seems that recognizing the relationship between these genes in invasive changes in colorectal cancer cells, especially in clinical trials, can be an important step in finding the mechanisms involved in metastasis and thus control it.
