Abstract

Introduction

The lipase activation and inhibition is a mater of research from industrial and medical point of view. the cold plasma has been shown to be useful in various medical treatments including sterilization, cell regeneration and wound healing. understanding the nature of these phenomena might be possible by studying the interaction of plasma with enzymes.

Methods

Here the effect of cold argon plasma on the structure and activity of lipase form thermomyces lanuginosus (tll) is studied. the plasma jet was applied for different time intervals between 30s - 4 min. therfore, the hydrolase activity of lipase on p nitrophenol palmitate (pnpp) was measured by following the absorbance at 410 nm. the fluorescence spectroscopy was at 285 nm and the protein solution intrinsic fluorescence was scane in the range of 300- 600.

Results

The increase in enzyme activity after short time exposure times of 50 s was observed while extending the exposure time caused the decrease in lipase activity. the similar pattern was observed for lipase physically adsorbed on graphene oxide.

Conclusion

The exposure to argon plasma jet is actually combination of multiple factors including reactive oxygen species, electromagnetic field or current, ultra violet light and temperature.
