Abstract

Introduction

Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells that have lost normal control mechanisms and are able to expand continuously, invade adjacent tissues, migrate to distant parts of the body, and promote the growth of new blood vessels from which the cells derive nutrients. bio therapies which involve the use of living organisms or their bio products are new attractive methods in cancer treatment.

Methods

The literature was systematically reviewed, based on clinical documents, related books and reliable and scientific articles.

Results

Although some microorganisms, including viruses, are the cause of infectious disease, viruses and bacteria stimulate the body’s immune system to act against cancer cells which is called “immunotherapy”. oncolytic virotherapy is a cancer treatment which exploits live viruses with selective tropism for cancer cells and tissues to treat; genetically engineered or naturally occurring.

Conclusion

Oncolytic virotherapy and using virus properties to design nano-vehicles (a novel method due to special rabies virus surface properties) for active targeting is a new method to treat different cancers.
