Abstract

Introduction

There has been a clear connection between mmps, ecm degradation & cancer cell invasion. matrix metalloproteinase(mmp)-9, contributes to tumor invasion & metastases and strategies to down-regulate its expression could ultimately be of clinical utility. there is increasing evidence that mmp-9 expression and mmp-2 activity are increased in malignant cancers compared with benign tumors and noninvasive ones, and compelling evidence for the role of type iv collagen in tumor invasion invitro and invivo which is known to be associated with disruption of the basement of membrane. the mmp-9 gene is encoded on chromosome 20, and its expression is under the control of a 2, 2-kb upstream regulatory region containing functional regulatory motifs that interact with well-characterized transcription factors.

Methods

Actually my method was on the base of bioinformatic & soft ware.the data of mmp9 gene was received from ncbi data base and by cristal.x, gene.doc & tree view.x the phylogenetic tree of the mmp9 gene was determined.

Results

The phylogeny tree of mmp9 showed a high percent of similarity in human gene compare with the other species and subsequently the phylogeny tree of mmp9 protein was the same. as a result this gene is kept in evolution & it describe that mmp9 can be an important gene also in other species.(photo & diagram)

Conclusion

Purpose:discover a way for curing the metastases. according to the result we can use the animal models for experiments of the gene therapy on them. of course discovering the methods for curing are needed more researchers.
