Treatment of vitamin d deficiency in pregnancy

Abstract


Introduction

The purpose of this study is the importance of vitamin d in pregnancy and its treatment. serum levels of vitamin d in the fetus and nose are closely related to the serum vitamin d level. lack of . the deficiency of this vitamin in pregnancy and embryo is more common with complications in the mother such as preeclampsia, pregnancy hypertension, preterm labor, and risk of gestational diabetes, and with hypocalcaemia, low birth weight ,and so on therefore,the treatment for this deficiency is important and needs to be followed up and screened

Methods

Review articles in google scholar, pubmed and sincedirect to identify peer-reviewed english language studies published from 2012-2017 .the key words used in the search were as follows: vitamin d in pregnancy, vitamin d deficiency in pregnancy, treatment

Results

A worldwide dose of 400 units per day is recommended for pregnant women. pregnancy mothers who are at risk for preeclampsia. a dose of 800 units of vitamin d in combination with calcium is recommended. a dose of 1500 to 3000 units should be taken to minimize the possible dose necessary to maintain the serum level of vitamins d is 30 ng/ml

Conclusion

: who considering the effects of vitamin d deficiency in pregnant women and fetus asked to provide a protocol for vitamin d deficiency has asked countries to provide a protocol for vitamin d deficiency. acog and rcog have recommended a dose of 1000 units of vitamin d in pregnancy. a dose of 50,000 units has been used in some studies, but further study is required. in our country, there is currently no specific prescription for treating vitamin d deficiency. however, the provision of vitamin d supplementation in pregnancy is necessary.
