Abstract

Introduction

Rainbow trout due to high levels of essential fatty acids, omega-3 has been identified as one of the important factors in reducing the risk of cancer in various researches. in this study, the anticancer effects of rainbow trout were studied in vitro.

Methods

In this experimental study, ags cell line was exposed to different concentrations of hexane, methanol, acetone , mixed (methanol 10% + 10% acetonitrile + ethyl acetate 80%) and water extracted of oncorhynchus mykiss for 24, 48 and 72 hours. then cell viability was studied by mtt assay.

Results

In the experiment, it was found that 14.7 and 107.45 μg / ml of hexane and water extracted for 24 hours and dilution of 11.67 μg / ml in acetone extracted of oncorhynchus mykiss within 48 hours. the mortality rate was about 50% of ags cell line.

Conclusion

According to the results in all rainbow trout extracts, with increasing concentrations, the extracts significantly contributed to the death of ags cell line. the time factor had an effect on these extracts on cancer cells. therefore, these extracts can act as an anticancer agent for this cell line
