Abstract

Introduction

Silver nano particles (agnps) are used in textiles, cosmetics, tooth brushes, home appliances, food packages and many other products. the goal of present research was to prepare agnps in a green procedure.

Methods

Biosynthesis of agnps performed in a green procedure using gum water extracts of camelthorn (alhagi camelorum fisch., fabaceae) to reduce 0.002 m silver nitrate (agno3). tem and uv-visible spectroscopy used to characterize physical properties of biosynthesized agnps.

Results

Characterization results of biosynthesized agnps indicated that: color of agnps was dark brown, uv-visible spectroscopy spectrum had a peak at 440 nm and tem electro micrographs revealed average particle size of 23 nm.

Conclusion

The simple procedure we performed, is a green- biosynthesis and environmentally safe method to produce aunps; however, it should be emphasized that this technique in a preliminary approach and if it should be applied for mass production, further optimization is required.
